After Huawei and Vivo officially release smartphone featuring an under-display in-screen fingerprint identification, Samsung’s new patent exposure on screen fingerprints was revealed yesterday. The principle of Samsung's fingerprint technology under the screen is: the light beam emitted by the fingerprint recognition sensor under the screen passes through the screen of the mobile phone and is reflected back after encountering the fingerprint of the finger. The sensor sends the collected data to the mobile phone processor for analysis and comparison to determine whether to pass the verification, complete the unlock. It works by peering through the gaps between the pixels in an OLED display (LCDs wouldn’t work because of their need for a backlight) and scanning your uniquely patterned epidermis.
